Continued strong performance for North East house prices in May
House prices in the North East of England continued their strong performance in May 2018, with prices up 3.7% year-on-year according to the latest LSL House Price Index.
The increase was led by strong markets in Darlington (up 7.9% annually) and Northumberland (up 8.7%).
The average house price in the North East in May was £163,396.
Across the whole of the UK, the average house price in England and Wales in June was recorded as £303,960. However transactions are down by 8% when compared to last year.
