The South East saw more areas hitting house price peaks in May than any other region in England and Wales according to the LSL House Price Index.
Although house prices in the South East were down 0.4% month-on-month in May, they were up 0.5% year-on-year. And 4 areas hit new house price peaks: East Sussex (up 7.8% annually), Oxfordshire (up 6.1% annually), West Berkshire (up 5.1% anually) and Isle of Wight (up 3.4% anually).
The average house price in the South East in May 2018 was £375,993.
The average house price across all of England and Wales in June 2018 was £304,592. That's up more than £6,000 compared to June 2017.
Transactions, however, were down by 8% year on year.
