Six year old Mya from St Annes Primary School in Brown Edge has successfully won a competition by national estate agency Reeds Rains which means her work will be featured on hundreds of printed material used around the local area in the run up to Christmas.

Reeds Rains Baddeley Green provided pupils with a blank Christmas card template and asked them to use this to create their own Christmas themed picture. Mya received a £25 Smyths toy voucher and satisfaction that her Christmas card design will feature on promotional material used by Reeds Rains. Each of the five runners up; Lexi-Eve, Ronnie, Lauren, Lydia, and Katie from St Annes School received a Christmas selection box.

The competition is part of the Reeds Rains drive to support the local community and create greater links with it.

Reeds Rains are displaying the designs in their branch at 112 Baddeley Green Lane, Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire, ST2 7HA and are Inviting parents to come along and see the finished design for themselves.

Alison Proudfoot, branch manager for Reeds Rains Baddeley Green comments: “St Anne’s Primary School is really committed to their pupils and they provide a range of activities for the children which demonstrate their creativity. We had an overwhelming response and the pupils really enjoyed the competition. All of the Christmas card designs look fabulous.”

Val Hall head teacher for St Anne’s Primary School adds: “Christmas is a special time of the year for the pupils and it is lovely to work with Reeds Rains. It’s great that the competition has been available for the all the pupils and has really helped develop the children’s social skills and build a sense of community in the school.”
