Move forward this year with Reeds Rains

Many people think that January is a quiet month for buying and selling properties, but last year Reeds Rains saw a 90% increase in visitors to its website, www.reedsrains.co.uk during January 2015 compared to December 2014.(*)

It is because of this rise in property interest that Reeds Rains is encouraging first time buyers to get a head start with moving home this year by taking advantage of government initiatives including: The Help to Buy ISA and the Help to Buy shared ownership programme. (**)

Kevin Beastall regional managing director for Reeds Rains explains: “January brings an increased interest in the property market from first time buyers who are keen to find their dream home as a new year begins.

Greater focus is being given to first time buyers through the Help to Buy ISA which is a new type of ISA designed to help save a deposit where the government will add 25% to their savings - up to a maximum of £3,000 on savings of £12,000. (**)

Shared ownership schemes allow you to part-buy and part-rent your home. You buy a share of your chosen property (between 25% and 75%) on which you’ll have to take a shared ownership mortgage. You then pay an affordable rent on the remaining share you don’t own. (***)

First-time buyers have seen their fortunes change for the better over recent months. Mortgage rates are still at record lows; inflation remains down, while those in work are feeling the benefits of wage rises. Lenders are offering a host of affordable options to help borrowers with smaller deposits get onto the housing ladder. This means now is a good time for many to start their property search. (****)

Reeds Rains makes it easy to get moving and is encouraging people to visit www.reedsrains.co.uk to arrange a visit with a professional mortgage advisor to find the option which is best for them.  When advising clients, we take into account their financial situation but also discuss any concerns they may have before offering advice.

We continue to build relationships with customers so when they arrange their mortgage through Reeds Rains, they are automatically enrolled in the “Remortgage Club” which reminds them when their current deal is due to end so they can review their arrangement, and receive advice on the best next steps.

We always strive to make the whole process straight forward and as simple as possible which gets the job done.”
