North East house prices rise 2.9% over the year to June
The North East of England saw house prices rise 2.9% year on year in June according to the latest LSL House Price Index.
Darlington was up 7.5%. It was one of 6 unitary authorities to set a new house price peak.
The average house price in the North East in June was £161,989.
All regions and 70% of unitary authorities recorded annual growth in July with the average house price in England and Wales now at £302,251. July also saw the smallest difference between the highest and lowest regional growth rates for 18 years.
