Reeds Rains staff in Driffield, East Yorkshire, recently invited children from the local infants school to take part in a competition which involved colouring in a Reeds Rains Christmas House – and the results were stunning.
Branch manager, Linda Taylor commented: “ We thought it would be a great idea to join forces with Northfield Infant School to help them celebrate Christmas and this seemed a perfect way to do it.
The standard of entry was very high and we found it very difficult to select our winners. Eventually six were chosen with their winning entries now displayed in our branch window alongside a special post box to help children post a letter to Santa.
The initiative is yet another way we’re hoping will add to the Christmas festivities locally following our participation in Mission Christmas. This was organised by the national charity, Cash for Kids, and designed to encourage donations of children’s gifts - or cash donations - for disabled, ill and disadvantaged children within the region - particularly those whose chance of receiving a Christmas gift is unlikely without this support.
We’ve acted as a designated drop off point for the gifts and have been delighted by - and thankful for - the response we've had to this and all our recent local community activities."
