Despite the current lockdown it seems interest in the property market remains strong as demonstrated by Reeds Rains who, last week, saw both the number of property valuations and viewings being booked via its website showing a marked increase compared with the same period last year. And there have been increases for lettings viewings too.
In the first week of January Reeds Rains saw 23% more requests for property valuations being booked on its website compared to the same week last year and a 10% increase in residential sales viewings being booked. And, on the lettings side, there was a massive 79% increase in the number of requests to view rental property.
All in all the results clearly demonstrate that, despite current restrictions, there continues to be high demand for property and for the services of estate and letting agents. It also highlights just how vital it is to have the information and support available online.
Louise Hudson, Marketing Director for Reeds Rains commented:
“We’ve always invested heavily in our website to make sure that, when potential customers are looking for support from an estate or letting agents, its Reeds Rains they come to and, when they do, they feel reassured that we can support them. It’s something that’s become even more important during the current crisis.
Whilst branches are continuing to operate, in accordance with government guidelines, reedsrains.co.uk provides a good starting point, enabling visitors to easily book appointments to sell, view or let property; when sourcing a mortgage; or even to watch our safe appointment videos. All appointment requests to view or value property, and our online property valuation calculator, link straight to the relevant branch’s phone line, so you’ll quickly be speaking to someone about your request.
In addition most of our branches can offer 3600 virtual viewings. These provide the chance to view a property online with our branch colleagues in support. They will send a link to enable you to take part in the online viewing (in the comfort of our own home) and will then be ‘on hand’, throughout, to show you the features of the property, inside and out, as well as answer any questions you may have. The added advantage is that relatives or friends OUTSIDE your household or social bubble can also take part in the viewing from their own devices, away from you, provided they have been given the appropriate link. Once the virtual viewing takes place you can then decide whether you want to take it to the next stage, and arrange a physical viewing of the property. Overall 3600 virtual viewings avoid superfluous visits to properties which, during lockdown, means it’s safer for both buyers and sellers.
The increase in valuation and viewing appointments being booked is, we believe, an indication of strong market activity but also the popularity and effectiveness of our website which, in turn, will support even more customers to realise their property dreams in the future.”
Why not take a look at our website to see how we might help you.
