Energy Performance Certificates

An Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) is designed to rate how energy efficient a property is. It shows a prospective buyer or tenant information about the property’s energy use and typical energy costs as well as giving recommendations on how to reduce energy use and save money.

It is a legal requirement to arrange an EPC before your house is put on the market for sale or to rent. All new build properties must also be marketed with an EPC.

An EPC can be carried out by any accredited assessor but when you instruct Reeds Rains to market your property you will be given the opportunity to purchase an EPC through us.

And, if you take out our Professional Marketing package then we will arrange the EPC at a 40% price reduction.

An EPC gives a property an energy efficiency rating from A (most efficient) to G (least efficient) and is valid for 10 years. When selling your property or looking to buy, it is useful to compare EPCs. You can look at the EPCs of other properties for free. This enables you to compare your home’s energy performance with that of similar homes.

Search by the property’s address or by the EPCs report reference number.
