Teams across Reeds Rains are now gearing themselves up to fundraise for Cash for Kids and already we’re hearing of some exciting plans they have in place; including involvement in our 5k a Day in May challenge.

In Woodseats, for example, we have Branch Manager, Jordan Turner gearing up to take part in the London Marathon in October – with the aim to raise, a very apt, £2022 for Cash for Kids.

Jordan commented: “I’ve already started training for the event and over the next 5 months expect to run 3 days a week plus have 2 gym sessions and 2 rest days. The deeper into the training plan, and the closer to Marathon Day I get, the miles will increase to running 16/18/20 miles + each time.

I’m not setting myself any target tome to complete the marathon, I’ll just be pleased to finish it. Ultimately I love having something to work towards, marathons are extremely tough and can take a lot out of the body, both whilst training and on the day itself, but I’m determined to raise as much money as possible for Cash for Kids. Times are tough at the moment and I think we are all starting to respect that, for children in particular, it’s really hard and they face a lot of hardship, through no fault of their own. Cash for Kids works to help children in such situations and I’m delighted I can help in this way.”

If you’d like to offer your support to Jordan in his fundraising efforts, simply visit his fundraising page here.

Please look out for further reports of our team’s fundraising efforts in the days and weeks to come. It’s the fifth year we’ve supported the charity and know, particularly this year, it’s vital we do all we can to help them - and the many children facing hardship. Every penny counts, and all support is very much welcomed.
