The friendly market town of Leyland combines its history with a vibrant town surrounded by beautiful countryside. It is best known for Leyland motors, founded in 1895, once the 5th largest producer of trucks and buses in the world. The town is now a commuter village with easy access to the Preston, Manchester and Liverpool. Leyland was also recently voted one of the top ten friendliest places to live in Britain.
