We know Blyth

Although there have been people living in this area of South East Northumberland back as far as the 12th Century, in the early  part of the 18th Century the impact of the coal mining trade meant that the port town expanded rapidly, along with the impact of the railway, shipyards, and modern fishing industries. The town still maintains its own identity in the face of its modern developments and holds onto its rich history.
